IN LOVING MEMORY...
On Tuesday morning, 10th of October, we lost our TITIYO...
Titiyo was in her prime and top condition, but only 3 weeks after the Sofiero Show she became ill.
She had been infected by Borelia virus from a ticbite. She was treated, getting better, put on antibiotics and was home with us again to heal. We noticed she was still a bit weak and dropping in weight. We took her to the vet's and left her in what we believed was to bee good care... What we did not know was that this vet only put her on IV (the drip) but did not give her proper medication. He neither did the necessary x-ray or the scheduled ultrasound on her heart as planned.
About 24-hours after we had left her at the vet,
Titiyo, died from that her lungs had been filled with water and her heart gave up...
The autopsy showed that the Borelia virus had infected the heart muscle and this was the reason she became weaker. The horrible and sad news are it could have been stopped IF the vet had done
what he was supposed to do!
The hospital has done a wonderful job and has also confessed that this specific vet mistreated Titiyo.
They have taken necessary precautions… but it will not bring back our girl!
This loong explenation is to tell everyone what really happened.
It is so sad and unfair!
It happens now and then that dogs and other loved animals are mistreated at their vet.
Sometimes by accident, but sometimes and in this case by ignorance...
Titiyo will be forever loved and missed!
